The Southern Museum of Flight displays civilian, military, experimental aircraft and memorabilia from throughout human history in its oversized facility, which also houses the Alabama Aviation Hall of Fame, containing over 65 biographical plaques that tell the story of Alabama aviation. It's an ideal destination for school field trips, family outings and just general high-flying fun with discounted group rates and annual memberships available, as well as facility rental for weddings and other unforgettable events. Open Tuesday through Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (closed Sunday and Monday) at 4343 73rd Street North, Birmingham.
